As much as we all appreciate a good soaking, October’s numerous days of constant rain and cloudy skies sure put a damper on our fall plantings. The shorter days of autumn tend to slow growth anyway, and days upon days of sunless skies practically brings new sprouts to a halt — and that’s if the seeds didn’t get washed away in the first place.
